About Me
Choosing a therapist is a big deal. For caregivers, trusting someone with your child’s mental health can be daunting. For kids, entering a new space with a new adult can be overwhelming and intimidating. I am warm and attuned, meeting you and your child where you are at with openness, empathy, and patience.
I specialize in attachment-focused, client-centered, neurodivergent affirming, trans and queer affirming, and anti-oppressive practice with youth and families. My areas of focus include anxiety, trauma, emotion regulation, and neurodivergence. I foster a safe and nurturing therapeutic space that promotes growth and healing. Most importantly, I invite kids to show up exactly as they are.
In my work with youth, I embody the spirit of child-centered therapy, opening up space for youth to invite me into their world. I provide the guardrails, reflection, and co-regulation, kids bring their full selves, and together we explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
In my work as a caregiver coach, I bring concrete and compassionate insight to support you with your parenting goals and challenges. You might be seeking a more connected relationship with your child, or simply feeling overwhelmed and ineffective. My approach promotes deeper understanding of your family’s needs and offers practical tools for increasing emotion regulation, collaboration, and ease in parenting.
Background
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Sociology, and a minor in Applied Psychology, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I completed my Master’s of Social Work (MSW) with a clinical concentration at the University of Washington.
I have over a decade of extensive experience working with kids in a broad range of settings. My background includes working with elementary students to promote positive play behavior and facilitate conflict mediation, with children and teens affected by their parent’s cancer, and with neurodivergent and disabled youth to provide positive behavioral support. Additionally, I have completed a range of training in Play Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT with children.
